WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
I was born in Media, PA.

HOW DID YOU ENCOUNTER YOGA? HOW DID YOU ENCOUNTER TANGO?
I was introduced to yoga by a woman I was dating almost twenty years ago. I have studied yoga at Sangha Space for over three years.
My Sangha Space friends Lauren, Elly and Lori encouraged me to try tango almost two years ago.

ANY ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NEW TO TANGO OR YOGA?
People new to tango should remember to find and keep an erect posture, connect to a partner with a sincere embrace, and to move together as a “solid block of awesomeness.”
People new to yoga should remember to breathe slowly and deeply, to move gently and gracefully from pose to pose, and to listen to and respect the capabilities of one’s body.

CAN YOU DESCRIBE TANGO IN 3 WORDS?
Tango in three words: connection connection connection.

CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOGA IN 3 WORDS?
Yoga in three words: body breath mind.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT EXCHANGING ROLES?
Exchanging roles in tango allows an individual to experience the different perspectives of the leader and the follower, and hopefully gain a greater understanding of what it means to dance in unison.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT UTILIZING PARTNER POSES DURING YOGA?
Partner poses in yoga offer an opportunity to explore asanas with more calm confidence and less trepidation. A partner can encourage one to challenge assumptions and limitations while simultaneously providing a safe space to explore and grow.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TAKING CLASSES AT SANGHA SPACE?
My favorite thing about taking a yoga class is exploring my individuality. My favorite thing about taking a tango class is connecting socially.

SOME SAY TEACHERS ARE LIFELONG LEARNERS. WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE CURRENTLY LEARNING MORE ABOUT OR WORKING ON AS A TANGO OR YOGA TEACHER?
As an assistant to tango instructors, I am learning more about accurately “performing” a lesson to help communicate information clearly to students.
As a yoga teacher, I am learning more about speaking descriptively with clarity and care.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TANGO SONG/ORQUESTRA?
My favorite tango song is Vida Mia.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE POSE OR PART OF YOUR YOGA PRACTICE?
My favorite yoga pose is pigeon.

WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES (BESIDES TANGO/YOGA) DO YOU ENJOY?
I enjoy playing guitar, hiking in the woods, and reading.

IF YOU WERE TO WIN THE LOTTERY, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?
If I won the lottery I would donate my time and money to others in need.

WHAT’S SOMETHING SECRETLY AWESOME ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW?
I am an awesome uncle to my nephew Dylan.
