WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
I was born in Philadelphia!
HOW DID YOU ENCOUNTER YOGA?
I first encountered yoga when I was a freshman at college-a very long time ago 🙂 Though it became a part of my daily lifestyle about 7 years ago when I was going through a tough period.
ANY ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NEW TO YOGA?
My advice would be to treat yourself kindly on and off the mat. Every breath, posture, and moment is exactly as it should be.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOGA IN 3 WORDS?
Yoga is calm, invigorating and balancing.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT UTILIZING PARTNER POSES DURING YOGA?
Partner poses allow us to embrace our vulnerabilities with genuine warmth, smiles, and support.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TAKING CLASSES AT SANGHA SPACE?
My favorite thing about classes at Sangha is the kindness and sense of community in the space.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE CURRENTLY LEARNING MORE ABOUT?
I am currently learning more about bringing mindfulness and yoga into schools and staying grounded with all of life’s demands.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE POSE OR PART OF YOUR YOGA PRACTICE?
My most favorite pose is tree pose! I love all balancing poses but tree pose allows me to connect with the earth, the air, and my self all at once. It’s a powerful yet humbling pose as I feel so connected to nature.
WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES (BESIDES TANGO/YOGA) DO YOU ENJOY?
Living a healthy and fun lifestyle. I love running, being active in the warm sun, playing with my dog, exploring our wonderful city of “Brotherly Love”, spending time with loved ones, anything wine related, and traveling with my husband.
IF YOU WERE TO WIN THE LOTTERY, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?
If I won the lottery I’d travel the world teaching yoga to children in impoverished areas and buy a beach house for my family to enjoy.
