I do not just want to dance with somebody.
Listening. Learning. Key words from this week.
It’s amazing how much we can learn when we listen. Not just with out ears but with our other senses as well. With tango, listening to movement is kind of a big deal. It’s what the dance thrives on. Tango isn’t just a set of steps, a sequence, or a practiced 8 count. Tango requires the need to have a deep ability to listen to each other. Because WHILE we are dancing, we are all telling some life stories. Even if we do not know it in that moment or a moment later.
I do not just want to dance with somebody. I want to listen to what they are saying. I want to know more about them. I really desire to hear their life story. I want to have a deeper conversation. And that requires listening and learning. Regardless of what role I play in the relationship.
