WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
Bryn Mawr, PA
HOW DID YOU ENCOUNTER YOGA?
Infomercials, my mother and gym class teachers all prepared me with those stage 1 stretches over the years that would help prepare for my later calling as a yogi. Ultimately yoga found me and has not let go after an unfolding of profound life events. Fortunately the best is yet to come.
To be as open-minded and patient with others as you are with yourself and vice versa.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOGA IN 3 WORDS?
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT PARTNER POSES & PRACTICING IN A CIRCLE?
Having a sense of unity and connectedness to your partner(s).
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PRACTICING YOGA AT SANGHA SPACE?
My favorite thing(s) about Sangha are the other interns, classmates and instructors! And feeling ever-slightly more enlightened after each class.
I love music. I have a large digital keyboard and have been collecting more instruments over the years. I play the piano, ukulele, Kalimba and now didgeridoo (as of Christmas). I also have an old mandolin from my brother and an even older banjo from my mom-mom. I also love my friends, going on hikes, bike rides, running, creative writing (short stories and poetry/lyrics mostly), thinking and talking about philosophical questions and getting lost in my own little world.
IF YOU WERE TO WIN THE LOTTERY, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?
If I won the lottery I would travel to Hawaii, New Zealand, Africa, and Asia. I would immerse myself in several new cultures to me, learn their music and collect exotic instruments. I would also attend outdoor festivals, investigate the nearby wildlife and take home a few tropical plants. Most of all I would use my money to help people and share with my friends and family, the less fortunate, charities, the EPA, planned parenthood, etc.
